Under the guidance of Shanghai Association of Science and Technology the first “Shanghai Forum on the Innovative Technology of Seafloor Observatory Network” was successfully held on Oct. 12th, 2018. The forum is co-sponsored by Shanghai Ceramic Society, Shanghai Geophysical Society and Shanghai Acoustical Society and co-organized by Shanghai Institute of Ceramics Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tong Ji University, Donghai Research Station, Institute of Acoustics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shanghai Jiading District Science and Technology Association More than 200 specialists, professors, young scholars and post-graduate students from research institutes, universities and related enterprises attended the forum. The academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor of Tong Ji University Mr. Wang Pinxian was the honorary chairman. The director of Social Development Department of Shanghai Science and Technology Commission Mr. Zheng Guanghong, the director of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics Chinese Academy of Sciences, the president of Shanghai Ceramic Society Mr. Song Lixin participated in the forum and made speech. The opening ceremony was presided over by research fellow of Shanghai Institute of Ceramics Chinese Academy of Sciences Mr. Luo Haosu.
The subject of the forum was “Strategic discussion on the development of the new generation of marine physical, chemical and biological sensors”. Through communication and discussion on the key scientific problems and technical bottleneck in the new generation of marine physical, chemical and biological sensors it could be expected that the bottleneck in marine physics, (sound, magnetism, electricity, gravity), chemical and biological sensor technology might be broken through in the near future so as to promote the development of high-tech marine industrial chain in China .
