According to the list of additional elected members just announced by the Chinese academy of sciences this morning the vice president of Shanghai Ceramic Society, director of the Inorganic Biological and Environmental Protective Materials Committee of SCS, deputy director of East China University of Science & Technology Mr. Liu Changsheng was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. 61 Chinese and 16 overseas scientists in total were elected as academicians of Chinese Academy of Sciences this year. Professor Liu Changsheng has been engaged in teaching and research for a long time. His main research direction is biomaterial. He won the second prize of national natural science award and second prize of national science and technology progress award (all ranked the first)
