The working conference of standardization commission of SCS was held on March 21st 2017. The director of the commission professor Ning Wei presided over the conference and reviewed the work in the past 16 years and the major issues of the commission in 2016. The 39th International Standard Organization (ISO) was held in Beijing, 2016. 《China's 13th five-year plan for science and technology innovation》issued by the State Council emphasizes to exert function of industrial associations, which should develop the work of standardization, implement the standard "pacesetter" system, foster a standardized service industry and improve the development ability of market subject technical standard.

The constitution of standard commission of SCS and detailed rules for secretariat of SCS were introduced and standard training work plan of 2017 was discussed. It would promote the work of standardization, implement standardization reform, play a dominant role in integration into the international, the government and the enterprises, promote innovation and development of standardized service industries so that SCS could play a leading rule in inorganic material technology.
