The 4th plenary meeting of 10th session of council was held by SCS on Feb. 22nd 2017. The president of SCS Mr. Song Lixin presided over the meeting. A total of 29 persons including the members of the council, the heads of working commission and the directors of the professional committees attended the meeting. The secretary general Madam Gu Zhonghua summarized the work of 2016 and put forward the work plan of 2017. SCS carried out the reelection for expiration of the council and Party construction in SCS, worked for popular science, sponsored industrial exhibition, promoted cooperation amongst enterprises, universities and research institutes, conducted industrial investigation and organized scientific and technical appraisals in 2016. SCS won the title of “2015-2016 advanced collective” issued by Chinese Ceramic Society.

In accordance with the recent development of their respective professional fields, the participants put forward many recommendations in service to enterprises, universities and research institutes, in the work of popular science, standard of social organization, cooperation between universities and enterprises, and recruiting members of SCS, etc. The directors of each professional committee reported their work in last year.

At this meeting the president of SCS Mr. Song Lixin pointed out that in 2017 SCS should develop in succession, serve technical innovation. Based on own specialties each professional committee should keep pace with the time, communicate mutually, cooperate with each other and illustrate the importance of material science in national economic construction for young students to promote the discipline development.
