A new year’s tea party was held by the glass work committee of SCS on Jan. 8th, 2017. At the tea party the director of the committee Mr. Wang Jianguo briefed the work of 2016 and the work plan of 2017. Aiming at the 46th world skills competition in 2021 held in Shanghai, the members of the committee discussed warmly, speak up actively and expressed their enthusiasm to enter the competition.
The world skills competition was sponsored by World Skill Institute (WSI). It has been successfully held for 43 sessions and become top level of worldwide professional skills competition and known as the "world skills Olympics" that represents the world's advanced level of professional skills development. China has sent representatives to attend 3 sessions of the world skills competition. At the 43rd world skills competition held in Sao Paulo, Brazil 2015, The Chinese delegation achieved a zero breakthrough in gold medal and won four gold, six silver and three bronze medals and achieved the best scores since China took part in the world skills competition so that attracted wide attention at home and abroad.
At the tea party the participants expressed their enthusiasm to actively prepare the world skills competition in 2021 and hope that our glass work skills can be shown successfully and the Chinese competitors will be able to play as best as they can. Meanwhile the competitors can learn advance skills from each other, so that the glass work skill can be handed down from generation to generation and even innovatively developed. It is expected to ignite more young people's enthusiasm for learning and studying skills in order to realize the transformation from “Made in China” to “Designed by China”.
