“The 2016 International Congress on Glass (ICG 2016)” sponsored by International Glass Association and Chinese Ceramic Society was held at Shanghai International Conference Center from April 8^th to 11^th of 2016. This session is the grandest congress in the international glass industry which attracted near 800 people coming from 33 different countries in the world. There were 8 plenary lectures, 87 invited reports, 318 oral reports and 103 poster papers at this congress. There arranged 8 professional venues involving glass property tests and characterization, functional glass, glass fiber and optical fiber, sol-gel technique, glass film and coating, glass archaeology, advanced glass forming and melting technology, etc. This congress was successfully concluded on April 11^th. The next session of congress will be held in 2019 in Boston, U.S.A. 4 vice presidents and some members of SCS participated in the congress.
