The “2013 Scientific Popularization Conference” was held on April 18th by Shanghai Ceramic Society (SCS). Professor Xu Jiayue, the director of Scientific Popularization Committee of SCS, presided over this conference. The main topics of the conference were:

—to review, discuss and select “The 2nd excellent popular science articles in SCS”;

—to discuss how to strengthen the work of scientific popularization in SCS and encourage more young science and technology practitioners to take part in popular scientific activities organized by SCS.;

—to confirm the goals of popular science work this year and the scope, subjects and the writing format requirements of popular science article collection, etc.

Finally, 9 excellent articles were selected as “The 2nd SCS popular science articles” and one of them won first prize, 3 of them won second prize and the rest 5 articles won third prize. The conference decided that a training lecture about writing knowledge for popular science would be held in late May of this year.
