The second Council meeting for expiration shift of 8th council was held by SCS on April 29, 2011. Total of 25 Council members together with all members of preparatory team attended this meeting. The following topics were discussed on the meeting: 1) List of candidates for 9th Council of SCS; 2) Preparatory progress for expiration shift introduced by the preparatory team; 3) Agenda, schedule and place of the next congress of SCS; 4) Nomination and qualification of representatives of next congress of SCS; 5) Asking for establishing “Energy and Material Committee” in SCS; 6) Brief review of the “22nd China International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition” and “International Symposium on Advanced Glass Melting Technology”; This meeting determined 37 candidates for 9th Council of SCS and preliminarily determined 130～150 representatives to attend the next congress of SCS. The meeting also decided that next congress should be held on June 10th, 2011 at Shanghai Institute of Ceramics Chinese Academy of Sciences.
