The 6th Annual Symposium together with 3rd Shanghai Engineer Forum was opened on Sept. 24th, 2008 in Shanghai. Representatives coming from societies and associations subordinated to Shanghai Association for Science and Technology（SAST）and Association for Science and Technology of districts and counties of Shanghai attended this opening meeting. Shanghai Ceramic Society also sent a representative to participate in this opening meeting of this annual symposium and forum. After opening ceremony a position paper titled “Expo and Science & Technology” was presented by Professor Zhou Hanmin. There were 60 societies, associations, research societies participating in this annual symposium and forum and twenty thousand representatives are estimated to take part in the activities of this symposium and forum. These activities will last to the end of Oct. of this year.
