Furnace and Equipment Committee of SCS held “The 8th session expiration shift meeting” on Sept. 5, 2006. More than 20 members of this Committee attained this meeting.
This meeting was presided over by Mr. Huang Fengnian and the Vice Director Professor Jiang Weizhong made a presentation first. The Secretary General Prof. Zhang Shen briefed the work of SCS in the first half of 2006 and working plan in the second half of this year and next year. The Director of this session of committee Prof. Sun Chentxu summerized the work and activities in this session of committee and pointed out the shortcomings in this period as well. He also expressed his expectation on the next session. The Vice Present of SCS Prof. Zheng Jinbiao introduced the expiration shift of SCS and its professional committees. The director candidates of 6 committees were already determined at the second council meeting of 8th session of Council of SCS through wide soliciting opinions and sufficient discussion as per the constitution of SCS and regulation of the committee, there, Director of Furnace Committe was Vice Prof. Ning Wei, Deputy Directors were senior engineer Huang Fengnian and Zhu Gentu ; the Secretary of the Committee was Dr. Wang Qingwei. The candidates of members of the Committee were discussed and a draft of name list was proposed for further solicitation and approval by Council of SCS.
Finally the Director of the next session of committee Vice Prof. Ning Wei presented the plan of main activities in the second half of this year and proposal in next year. According to Ning Wei an “International Symposium on Electro-melted Technology for Glass Furnace” shall be held in the first ten days of this Dec. The committee shall organize and encourage its members to take part in “The 18th International Glass Industrial Technical Exhibition” and “Symposium and Demonstration on Advance Ceramics”. Meanwhile the Committee will expand its technical consultation, organize technical interchange and visitation.
