The former president of SCS, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences Mr. Yin Zhiwen died of illness at Shanghai Huadong Hospital at 14:05 on July 18th, 2006, at the age of 88. Leaders of the Party and Government, his relatives, close friends and colleagues expressed their heartfelt condolences and paid their last respects to Academician Yin Zhiwen.

Mr. Yin Zhiwen was the president of third and forth council of SCS from 1981 to 1988. He had made outstanding contribution to development of SCS and Shanghai ceramic industry and new advanced ceramic materials as well.
