The second session of 8th council of SCS was convened in Shanghai on June 29th, 2006. There were 28 members of the council attending this session. Topics of discussion in this session were: 1. to discuss and determine executive directors of 8th council; 2. to discuss and determine the directors of every professional committee; 3. to discuss and determine the members attending 8th congress of Shanghai Science and Technology Association; 4. to discuss and determine candidates of 8th council members of Shanghai Science and Technology Association; 5. to brief the general secretary meeting of ceramic societies in East China; 6. to discuss other affairs.

This session was presided over by President Chen Lidong. Thirteen council members including President Chen Lidong were elected unanimously as executive directors of 8th council. This session adopted candidates for being directors of 8 professional committees, and also agreed the proposal that five persons including Mr. Chen Lidong as representatives to attend 8th congress of Shanghai Science and Technology Association.

In this session Secretary--General Zhang Shen briefed the situation of the general secretary meeting of ceramic societies in East China held last week and he also presented his proposal for promoting interchange and cooperation in the area of East China. Finally Mr. Chen Lidong made a brief summary for this session.
