Deputy director Mr. Jin Dashen (Department of Engineering and Material Sciences of NSFC), was invited by SCS coming to Shanghai Ceramics Institute of CAS. Meanwhile, he gave a lecture about " How to apply for the National Natural Science Foundation of China?" There were more than 100 of scholars and students from the Shanghai area attending this lecture.

The Symposium on Glassworking Technology and Equipment was carried out at Shanghai Science Hall on Dec.11, 2003. There were more than 120 technicians attending the Symposium.
This Symposium was co-organized by Shanghai Ceramic Society, Nerbert Arnold GmbH and PTC International Limited (HK).
Nov. 25-26, 2003
The Symposium on Research and Application of Advanced Inorganic Materials was carried out by SCS, on Nov. 25-26, 2003, at Shanghai Science Hall. About 190 domestic entrepreneurs、scientists and technicians as well as several students attended this symposium.
On this Symposium, we received more than 78 academic papers or abstracts. All of these academic papers were reported in three divisions for exchange. Among them 10 papers were selected to be excellent academic papers.

1. The Symposium on Technology and Equipment of Electric Furnace will be carried out.
2. The Study Class on Research and Application of Natural Gas will be established.

"5th China International Glass Industrial Technology an Machinery Exhibition" was be held at Shanghai New International Expo Center by The Chinese Ceramic Society and The Shanghai Ceramic Society.
This exhibition is the largest international glass exhibition in Asia of the most influential international glass exhibition in the world. The number of exhibitors are about 361 ( 129 exhibitors at abroad ), and the exhibition area is reach 16000 square meters.
