Shanghai Ceramic Society SCS was established in 1948. Now there are more than 2000 members in the SCS. All of these members are distributed in more than 100 factories, research units and also universities. There are 38 units as group members further more and 7 scientific academicians and engineering academicians in this society.

Shanghai Ceramic Society keeps wide connections with colleagues both national and abroad. Every year many famous scholars or specialists are invited to Shanghai for reports or lectures. Besides, academic discussion or technical exchange are carried out at definite time intervals or indefinitely, either international or national. There are also international exhibitions sponsored. It can also help the related enterprises and units to organize meetings for declaring their new products information, etc.

Meanwhile, this society pays much attention to personal training and personal exchange. Through all these activities mentioned above, It can promote the connections between enterprises and research units, and to master the development tendency of ceramic productions nowadays. Such wide information resources can be sufficiently used for the technical improvement and development of related enterprises and units.
